Why did I create this perfume?
I created this perfume to remind me of life in the countryside. My youth was spent on the apple orchard hunting and working outdoors. Birch Tar and Russian leather is a nod to my Slavic roots and addition to this birch trees, from which the absolute is derived and castoreum - beaver musk...celebrates Canadiana. This perfume is Slavic, it is Canadian and it is countryside. It is peasantry and very close to my heart.
Birch Tar Russian Leather is a powerful, smoky perfume. Leather boots sitting next to a bonfire.
|NOTES: smokey birch tar, vanilla, jasmine, rose, castoreum beaver musk|
Two natural materials are at the heart of this rich perfume.
First is birch tar resin. A natural tar taken from birch trees, this materials is restricted by IFRA so please take the time to do a skin patch test to ensure you are not allergic to this particular material.
The second very important materials is "castoreum."
Canadian trappers, often indigenous men and women never catch beavers solely for their musks. In fact they have very little use for them. They do however sell their musk to perfumers after taking their furs. Without perfumers this part of the animal would simply go to waste!
